At CELL, we believe in networking and collective intelligence. To build more resilient communities and societies we need to go beyond the borders of Luxembourg and find like-minded citizens across all countries. As CELL looks to expand our transition network, this month we join forces with the European Climate Pact Initiative.
What is the European Climate Pact?
The European Climate Pact is a movement of people united for climate action throughout Europe. Launched by the European Commission, the pact is part of the European Green Deal, an initiative aimed at helping EU countries to meet their goal of becoming climate-neutral by 2050.
Although similar in objectives, the European Climate Pact is not directly linked to the Luxembourg Climate Pact, which is a government funded agreement where municipalities commit to implementing climate-related measures at the community level. In an effort to create synergies and grow the transition movement, CELL has joined the EU pact alongside our national one and encourages citizens from all communes to take part in this new initiative.
500 Ambassadors already involved... and you ?
Today, more than 500 Ambassadors from all EU countries are involved in the European Climate Pact. Each year, they commit to spreading a message of hope and inspiration through concerted climate action initiatives. Currently in its second round, the program is officially launched and we invite all interested citizens of Europe to apply online until October 15th 2023.
Whether you are at the beginning of your climate action journey and full of new ideas or already engaged in a functioning project, all levels of participation are eligible. You can take part as an individual or as an organization such as a city, a community or an association.
The benefits of the program
GAIN VISIBILITY FOR YOUR CLIMATE ACTION PROJECT
• Recognition by the European Commission and publication of your personal profile as Ambassador of the European Climate Pact.
• Visibility for your actions and advocacy on the European Climate Pact website and on its social networks.
• Be invited to participate/speak or have a stand at the major national climate events in Luxembourg such as the "KlimaExpo" and the "Transition Days" in 2024.
ACCESS TO CAPACITY BUILDING WORKSHOPS
• E-learning trainings at European level.
• Access to in person trainings in Luxembourg organized by CELL, including being part of the Community Climate Coaches Program – from January 2024 onwards & a workshop on Collective intelligence tools and methodologies in September 2024.
• Individual support, monitoring and one-to-one support to each Ambassador.
LEARN & SHARE
• Be part of an international community of Ambassadors at European level and access local platforms to speak and present your actions.
• Be invited to informal knowledge sharing and decision-making sessions with other engaged citizens and stakeholders.
• Be able to actively participate on research projects within the transition movement.
• Have access to resources and toolkits on climate change action.
How to apply
Conditions to apply include:
Be a resident of one of the 27 EU countries.
A commitment to participate in most of the events & capacity building workshops offered through the program.
Reporting and feedback on your actions throughout the year.
As an EU Ambassador, you will become part of a network of change makers from all over Europe. With the support of CELL, you will have the opportunity to showcase your initiatives and share your ideas with a wide audience across the continent.

Qu'est-ce que le Pacte européen pour le Climat?
Le Pacte européen pour le climat est un mouvement de personnes unies pour l'action climatique dans toute l'Europe. Lancé par la Commission européenne, le pacte climat s'inscrit dans le cadre de l'initiative European Green Deal visant à aider les pays de l'UE à atteindre leur objectif de neutralité climatique d'ici à 2050.
Bien que ses objectifs soient similaires, le Pacte européen pour le climat n'est pas directement lié au Pacte luxembourgeois pour le climat, qui est un accord financé par le gouvernement dans le cadre duquel les municipalités s'engagent à mettre en œuvre des mesures liées au climat au niveau communautaire. Dans le but de créer des synergies et de faire grandir le mouvement de transition, CELL a rejoint le Pacte climat européen en même temps que notre pacte national, et encourage les citoyens de toutes les communes à prendre part à cette nouvelle initiative.
Déjà 500 ambassadeur.rices engagé.es... et vous ?
Aujourd'hui, plus de 500 ambassadeurs de tous les pays de l'Union européenne sont impliqués dans le Pacte européen pour le climat. Chaque année, ils s'engagent à diffuser un message d'espoir et d'inspiration par le biais d'initiatives concertées en faveur du climat. Actuellement dans sa deuxième phase, le programme est officiellement lancé et nous invitons tous les citoyens européens intéressés à poser leur candidature en ligne jusqu'au 15 octobre 2023.
Que vous soyez au début de votre parcours d'action climatique et plein de nouvelles idées ou déjà engagé dans un projet opérationnel, tous les niveaux de participation sont éligibles. Vous pouvez participer en tant qu'individu ou en tant qu'organisation telle qu'une ville, une communauté ou une association.

Reconnaissance par la Commission européenne et publication de votre profil personnel en tant qu'ambassadeur du Pacte européen pour le climat
Visibilité de vos actions et de votre plaidoyer sur le site web du Pacte européen pour le climat et sur ses réseaux sociaux
Invitation à participer, à prendre la parole ou à tenir un stand lors des grands événements nationaux sur le climat au Luxembourg, tels que la "KlimaExpo" et les "Transition Days" en 2024.
ACCÈS AUX ATELIERS DE RENFORCEMENT DES CAPACITÉS
Formations d'apprentissage en ligne au niveau européen;
Accès à des formations en personne au Luxembourg organisées par le CELL, y compris la participation au programme des coachs climatiques communautaires - à partir de janvier 2024 et un atelier sur les outils et méthodologies d'intelligence collective en septembre 2024;
Un soutien individuel, un suivi et un accompagnement personnalisé pour chaque ambassadeur.
APPRENTISSAGE ET PARTAGE
Faire partie d'une communauté internationale d'Ambassadeurs au niveau européen et accédez à des plateformes locales pour parler et présenter vos actions
Être invité à des sessions informelles de partage de connaissances et de prise de décision avec d'autres citoyens et parties prenantes engagés
Participer activement à des projets de recherche au sein du mouvement de transition
Avoir accès à des ressources et à des boîtes à outils sur l'action contre le changement climatique.
Comment postuler
Les conditions pour postuler sont les suivantes :
Résider dans l'un des 27 pays de l'UE
S'engager à participer à la plupart des événements et ateliers de renforcement des capacités proposés dans le cadre du programme
Rendre compte de vos actions tout au long de l'année.
En tant qu'ambassadeur de l'UE, vous ferez partie d'un réseau d'acteurs du changement de toute l'Europe. Avec le soutien de CELL, vous aurez l'occasion de présenter vos initiatives et de partager vos idées avec un large public à travers le continent.
